Gamenauts is an independent game development studio based in Silicon Valley and founded in September 2005 by Stanley Adrianus, formerly of Yahoo! Games.

Their game Ninja Fishing has been criticized as copying the game mechanics of Ridiculous Fishing by Vlambeer. Gamenauts released Ninja Fishing in 2011, using the game mechanics in Ridiculous Fishing by Vlambeer, before giving the original creators a chance to publish their game first. Apart from the loss of income, this severely depressed the original creators who could not take legal action against Gamenauts because of loose copyright laws. In 2013 Vlambeer published Ridiculous Fishing, with the highest rated reviews of all year.

In 2012, the company announced a publishing initiative for indie Asian developers, signing up studios from South East Asia such as Kurechii Studio, Menara Games, Artlogic Games and Nerdook Productions to publish their mobile titles for the worldwide market.
